His entire scientific career is connected to the place where he was born – Cracow, Poland.
He completed his Masters Degree in the Department of Cell Biochemistry, Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology at Jagiellonian University in Cracow. During his PhD he also finished biomedical engineering at AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow. Currently, he's at the end of his  PhD studies in the Department of Microbiology headed by Professor Jan Potempa. The main focus of his research is to understand how different molecules are transported across the outer membrane (OM) of Gram-negative bacteria. For this, he investigates Type 9 Secretion System (T9SS) and RagAB peptide transporting system of periodontal pathogen Porphyromonas gingivalis. he is mostly fascinated by structural biology, which he was able to learn from cooperation with prominent crystallographers – Professor Xavier Gomis-Ruth from Spain and Bert van den Berg from UK.
